Anthony Hopkins launches an NFT collection to celebrate his career

On August 17, Orange Comet, an arts and entertainment company focused on NFT typing and promotion services, announced its partnership with famous Hollywood actor, Sir Anthony Hopkins, to launch its first NFT collection.

Orange Comet says this will be the first batch of “The Eternal Collection” NFT series, which will run for 3 days. During this period, collectors will have access to over 1000 unique images of the actor based on different archetypes.

Anthony Hopkins’ interest in Nfts began with his film Zero Contact

Hopkins’ interest in creating an art collection immortalizing his film career grew after his film Zero Contact was released as an NFT on Vuele. His interest was such that he even asked Snoop Dogg for advice before making his first purchases.

Vuele is a web3 creative studio platform for viewing and collecting limited edition feature films and NFT content.

In an interview for Yahoo Finance, Hopkins said “NFTs are a blank canvas for creating art in a new format.” He pointed out that NFTs enable reciprocal sharing of artistic inspiration with others, regardless of age.

“I’m probably the oldest guy in the NFT and social media community, which proves that anything is possible at any age.”

According to Dave Broome, CEO of Orange Comet, the collection will launch mid-September on OpenSea. It will feature 10 of Hopkins’ most relevant character archetypes, such as Hannibal Lecter from “Silence of the Lambs” and Odin from Marvel’s “Thor.”

The collection represents the different facets of the artist in his film career

Hopkins’ collection was designed to allow fans and collectors to visually appreciate the many facets of the actor’s career.

Orange Comet CEO Dave Broome said it was difficult to create a collection that marks all the art Hopkins has made throughout his career.

“These are high profile projects and opportunities that will last forever no matter what, and that’s what we expect here. […] We think it’s a good time actually because of the appetite for something this high fidelity with this kind of iconic talent. It’s about intellectual property, art and trademarks, and showcasing Hopkins as both an artist and a brand to the world.

Those attending the first day of the auction can meet the artist at a welcome ceremony and lunch and can also take home an autographed art book from Hopkins.

On day three, 1,000 unique images will be auctioned and 39 autographed art books by Hopkins will be randomly distributed to buyers with an intimate view of his works and poems. Additionally, 5 buyers will be selected to join a video call via Discord with the actor.
