Manchester United entered negotiations with Felix’s side earlier this summer as they sought to lure him to Old Trafford.
Erik Ten Hag hoped the striker would be interested in joining his side after naming him as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo – whose future at the club still hangs in the balance.
However, Atletico have explained that they have no intention of parting with their ‘franchise’ players in the 2022-23 campaign.
A number of media outlets subsequently reported that United had tabled a £110million bid to sway the La Liga giants.

Felix joined Atletico from Benfica in 2019 for £113million. He took a while to find his grove with Diego Simeone’s side but started to settle in shortly after signing for seven years.
In the 2021-22 season, Felix scored 10 goals in 35 appearances, equaling the same goals tally from the previous campaign.
Alvaro Morata has praised Felix and explained how much he loved playing alongside his teammate at Atletico.
“The truth is that Joao has a special talent, that last pass. Although there is also Correa, Lemar, Marcos, Koke… the people behind made great balls and we have to keep working and running in the ‘space,’ he told reporters.
“I really want to play here, work, play games, there are a lot of competitions and I’m very excited for this season, but as always here.

While Felix said he has no intention of leaving Atletico this summer and is ‘focused’ on his future with the La Liga giants.
“A departure from Atletico is not on the table,” Felix told Marca. “I’m fine and focused on Atletico. I’m calm about the future, aware of what I can do and I feel good.
